2023 Book Fiesta

Join ELLA Library for the 6th Annual Book Fiesta on September 30th at East Lake Park! Book Fiesta is a literary event based on the picture book 'Book Fiesta' written by Pat Mora. For Book Fiesta, ELLA Library selects books primarily in English and Spanish that serve as opportunities to build community and intercultural understanding. With the help of Chattanooga artists, ELLA Library brings these books to life through dramatic readings, larger-than-life artworks and installations, and hands-on activities that help children see themselves as makers of their personal stories.

Fundraiser to Support ELLA Library's summer programming

ELLA Library’s neighborhood-based summer programming runs for ten weeks, Monday through Friday, and includes lunch, literacy, and math support with educators, hands-on opportunities for special STEAM projects, and outdoor activities. With your support this summer, we can support the educational needs of 50 rising Kindergarten through 8th grade youth primarily from the East Lake and Cedar Hills Neighborhoods. How can you help? $300 supports one kid for the summer $50 Friday Fun Bucket (Popsicles, reusable water balloons, STEAM activity supplies) Fun Facts from Summer 2023 42 Youth Participated throughout the summer Youth collectively logged more than 300 hours of reading! All of our rising K’s were ELL students and had a smoother transition into Kindergarten. Students said the 2023/2024 school year was easier because of the support they had over the summer because they had mastered math or phonics skills!
